Queen Greatest Hits cover- clockwise from top: Brian May, John Deacon, Freddie Mercury and Roger Taylor.

Hello and welcome to my page! This is a page devoted to THE band of the 80's, Queen.

Queen ran from 1974 up until 1991, when Freddie Mercury died sadly of AIDS. The band setup went like this:

Lead Vocals - Freddie Mercury

Lead Guitar - Brian May

Bass Guitar - John Deacon

Drums - Roger Taylor

The most famous Queen single released is probably Bohemian Rhapsody which runs for 5 mins, 55 secs. The longest single released by Queen though was "Inuenndo". It comprimises nearly all of the different styles that Queen used over the years along with Bohemian Rhapsody.
Here is a list of just some of their many hits:
Bohemian Rhapsody, Another One Bites the Dust, Innuendo, I Want to Break Free, We Will Rock You, We Are the Champions, The Show Must Go On.
The first ever song released by the band was "The Seven Seas of Rhye" released in 1974. This was a major achievement for the band because they were being taken on by a record company that did not know what they could do.
Queen were originally a Secondary School band in Cornwall called "Smile". In this band featured Brian May and John Deacon. When the band split, Freddie moved in and Queen were formed. They recorded their own songs and sent them off to a record company. The company liked what they heard! They took on the band and Queen were destined for the top! The band were very successful, gaining the most "Gold" records ever by a band. In 1989, they won the ITV award for best band.< They also took partin the huge world televised concert "Live Aid" in which Freddie took on a more unfamiliar role on the keyboard.

The last tour made by the band was "The Magic Tour" in 1986. The last live performance was in Knebbworth, which was not a planned show. It pulled in a huge crowd.
